Chapter Two.

The morning after I talked to Papa and Dad about going, they called a family meeting. They both explained that I was going to be sent away for a little bit to a safer place, where I could play outside and go to something more like a normal school. I’d be safe over there.
“So he’s just going to go, all by himself?” Ryan asked.
“No, we’re hiring a helper to get him there. Like a counselor from the camp where the kids hang out.” Dad said.
“Why does Rory get to go first? I want to go on an adventure!” Cara added.
“You’ll all get to go on the adventure soon. Rory will be able to show you around the camp where you’ll all be staying. But we’re sending Rory first because he’s been having a rough time lately. When those big boys took his money away yesterday, that was when your dad and I made the decision to send you kids to the camp.”
“Where is this camp?” Ryan asked.
“It’s in Florida, down a little way.”
