I literally made four pies in three days last week. From scratch.

Let no one ever tell you that making a pie is easy. It’s not.

I know you’re waiting for the copy lesson baked into this story. There isn’t one. Making a pie is all about focus and work. There’s no going back once you start making a pie. You either get a finished pie or a shitty pile of breadcrumbs. That’s it.

For someone like me, I need projects like that. I will flit from project to project all damn day. My attention doesn’t stick well. I’m always looking to shift my priorities, optimize my life and time. I’m always chasing down the next dollar.

But I’m getting older, which is a good thing. It forces me to think about what I want to do and what deserves my time. Sometimes it’s worth ditching projects halfway through when you can tell they’re shit. I’ve abandoned plenty of cookies and biscuits that were headed that way.
