I know it feels ridiculously early to be thinking about the holidays. But you should be.
Among many reasons why: A recent report showed that 84% of all holiday gift sales last year were done by brick-and-mortar stores.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?
I don’t know about you, but that blew away so many of my expectations.Most people I talked to last year were planning on mostly shopping online.
But it’s a really cool thought: People still like shopping in stores. There’s still a need for in-person interactions in stores, or maybe somewhere you can get something physical at that moment. Last minute-shopping is also projected to go up by 15% over last year.
All this to say: We still know nothing about holiday shoppers.
So it’s time to start thinking about how to engage them. In September.
That’s your challenge this week: Start thinking about how you’ll start engaging your holiday customers. How are you going to pitch for work leading up to winter? How will you manage your lead flow?
