I spent my Sunday reading Mary Meeker’s Internet Trends 2018 report.

Am now convinced Mary is a goddess.

Seriously. If you ever have a moment where you wonder why you’re writing copy, much less writing copy for the Internet (as most of us do nowadays), read this report.

It comes to us from Mary Meeker of Kleiner Perkins , at which she is a Partner and the head of a research team that compiles these results. She’s quick to acknowledge everyone she’s worked with on this report (because she’s classy).

Mary is a big deal. She once worked with Morgan Stanley and has been called the Queen of the Internet She also notoriously doesn’t give a fuck about politics and will say whatever she feels to be true. Even if it’s about the death of PCs.

This report summarizes a lot of what we’ve been feeling regarding the Internet in the last few years. It summarizes privacy fears with an eye to all sides. There’s lots of surprising trends like an overall slowdown of smartphone growth and China being even bigger than we thought.
