Previous chapter.

I wrote the birth announcement for Andy’s baby myself, and it ran in twenty major papers. It’s weird that that’s the most shared article I’ve ever written so far. Lady Three was right: Birth and death announcements really do get around.

Andy’s fine now. In fact, everyone’s fine. Lady Five won the election in a landslide, even though she’s still set to be prosecuted for killing her husband. It’s a little twisted, but it’s the world we’re living in now. The polls were probably rushed by people who watched her kill the ex-President anyway.

But if I can be honest, I almost don’t mind this crazy new world. It has that same quality of truthfulness that Andy wanted. Even if Lady Five ended up going to jail, she’s already repealed the laws prohibiting travel and outside immigration. Those probably won’t end up being reset any time soon. Not if the kids of voting age have anything to say about it.

It’s also now considered child abuse to impose a strict gender identity onto an individual child. I worry about people like Bugsy’s family, but I believe in my core that they…
